On May 24, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office Government Plaza in Stonewall, LA.  The proposed structure will act as a northern substation for the Sheriff’s Office where we will be able to extend services currently only available at our main office in Mansfield.  The same services will also be expanded to the Logansport Substation as well.  These services include taking tax and ticket payments, with the ability to expand in the future based off of the need of the Parish.  The facilities will also provide a 24-hour video surveillance "Safe Zone" for citizen exchanges to take place.

We have worked with other government entities, namely the Town of Stonewall and the DeSoto Parish Police Jury, to include them in this construction project.  Both entities will have space inside of the structure to conduct day-to-day operations.  They also had input and feedback on the project and worked directly with the architect to build a work area that is suitable for their operation.   Construction on the project is currently underway with an estimated completion date of May 12, 2020.

The current estimated square footage for each entity is as follows:
DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office - 6,074 sq ft.
DeSoto Parish Police Jury - 1,516 sq ft
Town of Stonewall - 2,310 sq ft
Common Area - 3,690 sq ft
