Interstate 10 near Beaumont re-opened Thursday evening, hours after a massive crash involving as many as 100 vehicles left two people dead and up to 120 injured. According to sources, the crash took place in extremely dense fog shortly before 9 a.m. along a two-mile stretch of road between Taylor's Bayou and Hampshire Road. I-10 was closed in both directions west of Beaumont near Hampshire Road. Shortly after noon, the westbound lanes reopened to traffic. The eastbound lanes re-opened at 5 p.m Thursday evening.
