A Chireno woman trying to remove a snake from a water well survived a 30-foot fall before refusing medical treatment over the weekend, according to a Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s report. The victim told first responders she could not see the snake and was trying to use a fish net to retrieve it when she fell head-first into the well around 2 p.m. Saturday. She had been removed from the well when a deputy and volunteer firefighters responded to a 911 call about six hours later. She “had no injuries and refused medical treatment from EMS,” according to the report.
