Yesterday was Veterans Day, and since it fell on Sunday, there are a couple of Veterans Day events being held today.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Posts of San Augustine, Operation Stronghold of Broaddus and the San Augustine Historical Society will jointly conduct this year’s Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m., this morning, in the Museum Theater in San Augustine (because the 11th falls on a Sunday). As always, the event is open to the public and there will be no admission charge.

The Timpson ISD is having their annual Veterans Program, at 10 a.m., this morning, at the Timpson High School Gym. All veterans are invited to attend. Guest speaker will be Retired Navy Petty Officer, Vernett Richardson of Timpson.
