Center Broadcasting Community Spotlight of the Week

It’s now time for the Center Broadcasting Community Spotlight of the Week.  This Week’s Community Spotlight will be shedding light on a woman who knows how to draw, plan and execute.  This week we would like to highlight Leigh Porterfield.  Leigh is a Center native and 1976 graduate of Center High School.  Leigh is also a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University.  From there, Leigh worked 20 years as an architectural designer of business’ and homes in the area.  Leigh comes from a strong family that has always been actively involved with the community.  Leigh’s Great Grandfather was a former state representative along with her grandfather who not only served as mayor of Center but also as fire chief.  Leigh's father was also active in the community and Leigh is by no means any different as she too dedicates her time and energy to various community and civic organizations.  Currently, Leigh is the chairwomen of the Shelby County Republican Party as well as a member of the Center City Council.  When Leigh is not working on a project with the city, Lee and her family attend the Holly Springs Baptist Church.  Lee is active in various church programs where she is able to be a positive role model and thereby share her wisdom, talents, and experience with others.  We want to thank Leigh Porterfield for all of her hard work and dedication to the City of Center.
