TxDOT Update

 

 


LUFKIN – Work schedules for the Lufkin District are full and crews will be working if weather permits next week.

 

“Weather is always a big part of whether we can fulfill our plans to work on our maintenance and construction projects,” said Rhonda Oaks, Lufkin District public information officer. “So we hope for the best and plan to be at our work sites throughout the week.”

 

Motorists should stay alert and use caution as they travel through or near a TxDOT work zone. Reduce speed and prepare for delays. Expect workers and moving equipment near the lane of traffic. For more information regarding statewide closures and conditions, visit drivetexas.org.

Work schedules for the week of Feb. 4-8 include:

 

ANGELINA COUNTY

US 69 South: Work will continue from FM 844 to FM 1270 as crews install drainage structures and excavate and place embankment for future northbound lanes. Drill shafts and columns are also being constructed at the site of the future overpass at SH 63. This project is designed to widen the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided highway. Motorists should stay alert for flaggers and expect intermittent delays in some areas.

US 59: Crews are scheduled to begin the overlay at crossovers, driveways and intersections on this project designed to resurface the roadway from Whitehouse Drive to FM 2497 near Diboll. Motorists should expect delays and daily lane closures.

SH 94: Crews are scheduled to cut high edges in various locations on Monday.

SH 103 West: Crews plan to clean ditches in various locations Monday through Wednesday.

SH 103 East: Work is planned to clean ditches in various locations on Wednesday.

FM 324:  Crews are scheduled to continue installing safety end treatments on driveways and cross drainage structures on this project to improve guardrail to design standards and safety treat fixed objects from just south of SH 94 to US 59.

FM 706: Work is planned to cut high edges in various locations.

FM 2021: Base repairs are scheduled in various locations.

FM 1669: Base repair is scheduled at Odell Creek.

FM 325/Lufkin Avenue: Crews are scheduled to continue concrete work between the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office and work west toward Timberland Drive on this project designed to install sidewalks and intersection ramps to near Timberland Drive.

Various locations: Work is scheduled to patch potholes, sweep roadways and repair signs.

 

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY

US 259: Crews are scheduled to place a new service pole at the entry ramp of US 59 on this project to upgrade the and install new lighting at the ramp. The ramp will be closed as crews complete this work.

SH 21: Crews continue to work to upgrade guardrail to design standards and safety treat fixed objects from SH 7 to the San Augustine County line and in Sabine County from the San Augustine County line to FM 3448. Motorists should expect possible intermittent lane closures.

FM 226: Crews continue to work to upgrade guardrail to design standards and safety treat fixed objects from SH 21 to the end of pavement.

FM 1638: Crews will continue to monitor vegetative establishment and place mailboxes and signs on this project designed to upgrade guardrail to design standards, safety treat fixed objects and provide additional pavement width from FM 698 to US 59/SL 224.

FM 2609: Crews continue to relocate utilities at this project to widen the roadway from Raguet Street to North Street (BU 59).

 

SHELBY COUNTY

SH 87: Crews are monitoring vegetative establishment in this project designed to upgrade guardrail to design standards and safety treat fixed objects from SH 7 to SH 147.

CR 4789: Crews are monitoring vegetative establishment at the bridge replacement projects at the tributary of Blackwater Creek and at Risinger Creek on CR 4620.

Various locations: Work is scheduled to clean ditches and culverts, repair potholes and repair signs.

 

SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY

SH 21: Crews continue to work as weather allows on the bridge replacement at the Attoyac River Bridge. Possible lane closures should be expected.

SH 21: Crews are monitoring vegetative establishment at Venado Creek, Perkins Creek and Niciper Creek where new bridges and approaches have been constructed.

SH 103: Base repairs are scheduled from FM 1277 to FM 1992. Expect intermittent lane closures.

FM 1196: Work is scheduled to repair road base from SH 21 to FM 1277.

 

SABINE COUNTY

FM 83: Vegetative establishment is being monitored on this project designed to upgrade guardrail to design standards and safety treat fixed objects from the San Augustine County line to FM 1.

Various locations: Crews are working to repair bridges on FM 276 at Patroon Creek, FM 1592 at Tabo Creek Relief, FM 705 at Turkey Creek Bridge and FM 2871 just south of FM 83. Possible lane closures.

 

TRINITY COUNTY

FM 2262: Crews continue to work to upgrade metal beam guard fence throughout this project designed to reconstruct and widen pavement from FM 357 to SH 94.

Various locations: Crews are scheduled to repair washouts and pavement edges.
