SHELBY COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigated a one-vehicle crash yesterday evening 11-8-18 on US 96, about one mile north of County Road 3774.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 7:15 p.m., a 2001 Dodge pickup was traveling south on US 96; towing two trailers. The pickup was reportedly traveling at an unsafe speed and left the roadway to the right and traveled down a grassy hill off the roadway. 

 

 

 

 

 

The driver is identified as 79-year-old Lige Horton Jr., from Kirbyville, TX.  Horton was not reportedly injured during the crash.  No additional information is available at this time.
