Recap of Friday night's high school football action

Here's a recap of Friday night's high school football action from across the area: the Center Roughriders improved to 3-0 on the season with a 27-14 win over Atlanta. The Rider offense came up with 433 yards, including 266 yards passing from quarterback Dalton Horton. The Joaquin Rams remain undefeated at 3-0, as they took a 28-26 win over Hemphill; and the Timpson Bears are off to a 3-0 start after a 32-6 victory against Union Grove.  Tenaha and Garrison, meanwhile, drop to 1-2 on the season. The Tigers lost to Alto, 54-18, giving up 42 points in the second half ; while the Bulldogs fell short in the final minute, as Brook Hill came away with a 24-20 win over Garrison.  The San Augustine Wolves get into the win column for the first time, with a 26-14 win over Deweyville, as Tony Hubbard rushed for 148 yards. The Wolves are 1-1. The Logansport Tigers also got win number one, as they outlasted Red River, 34-28.  The Shelbyville Dragons are still in search of their first win of the season, as they lost to Price Carlisle, 50-12. Shelbyville is 0-3.  Lufkin hands Nacogdoches a 45-7 whipping; and Carthage over Chapel Hill, 30-6.
