The Roarin’ Band from Tigerland competed at the UIL Area C Marching Contest on October 27th in Pirate Stadium at Pine Tree High School. The band put on a great performance at Area prelims that earned them a spot at Area finals. Later that evening, they put on a near flawless performance that earned them a three way tie for 4th place. Unfortunately, only three bands advance to state.
Despite many very positive comments from the judges, the band missed advancing to the State Marching Contest by only three points. One judge did rank the band 1st in the music category, and another judge ranked them 3rd in marching, but the overall math just did not fall in the band’s favor yesterday.
Nevertheless, it was a very successful and rewarding end to a fantastic marching season. Great job band! We also want to wish the three bands that advanced from the East Texas Area (Carlisle, Timpson, & Union Grove) the best of luck at the State level!
