On October 20, 2018, Agents with the Tri-Parish Task Force and DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Team executed a narcotics search warrant near the 1000 block of Uncas Street in Logansport, LA.  The execution of this search warrant is the result of a six-month investigation into illegal sales of crystal methamphetamine in our parish.  Agents were able to locate several grams of suspected marijuana, baggies used to package and sell crystal methamphetamine, digital scales, and several smoking devices typically used for both marijuana and methamphetamine.  Agents developed information during the search warrant that the resident, Jackie Renea Jackson, along with 4 other individuals were transporting crystal methamphetamine from Texas into the DeSoto Parish area by vehicle.  A patrol deputy was able to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and take Jackson into custody on the arrest warrants already obtained by agents. Consent was given to search the vehicle which revealed several grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine concealed inside.  Agents have been able to arrest 5 individuals stemming from this investigation and Sheriff Jayson Richardson is optimistic that several more arrest warrants will be obtained related to this ongoing investigation.
