The East Texas Poultry Festival Doo Dah Parade chairman Carolyn Lamb announces Center Tire Company as the 2012 parade sponsor.  Pre-registration for the parade is not required.  Participants will need to line up at the Farmers State Bank Drive-Thru at 4:00. The parade will circle the historic downtown square led by the Shelby County Junior Chamber of Commerce at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26.

Chicken Cooking Contest recipes are to be submitted by Wednesday, September 19 according to Claudann Jones.  The contest, sponsored by Tyson Foods on Wednesday, September 26 will follow the Doo Dah Parade on the downtown Center Square at 5:00 p.m. Trophies and cash prizes will be given to the top cooks by categories including People’s Choice and the Best Dressed Table.  To enter the contest, send recipes by email to dllovell@ag.tamu.edu or call 936-598-7744 until September 19.  If you are not a cook, come out at 5:00 p.m. on the east side of the square and try all the dishes for a $5 charge.
