On Monday, September 10, 2018, the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office received information from the U.S. Marshall's Service that a subject with an active warrant was likely in the Mansfield, LA area.  An investigation revealed that the subject was believed to be working on a home near the 1000 block of Susan Street in Mansfield, LA.  Two Deputies traveled to the location and were able to locate a brown Ford van believed to belong to the suspect.  Shortly after exiting the vehicle, a deputy made contact with Daniel R. Kroesing (W/M - DOB: 07/26/1978) of Dallas, TX who was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender in Dallas County, TX.   

 

 

Kroesing was explained his Miranda Rights, searched for weapons, and detained at that time.  Deputies also located a female subject in the van belonging to Kroesing.  The female stated to deputies that she did not have any form of identification and appeared very nervous when stepping from the vehicle.  The female subject was also read her Miranda Rights, searched for weapons, and detained.  She was later identified as Wendy L. Luke (W/F - DOB: 06/11/1986) of Dallas, TX.   

 

 

Kroesing gave deputies verbal consent to do a vehicle search and advised deputies that there were no drugs in the vehicle.  When advised of the search, Luke then gave a description of a bag behind the drivers seat that she said would contain methamphetamine.  The vehicle search revealed the bag containing several syringes, assorted plastic bags, and a plastic container with suspected crystal methamphetamine.  A further search of the vehicle also revealed a draw-string bag containing a full pill bottle without a prescription label. 

 

 

Luke admitted that the pills belonged to her, however, Luke and Kroesing both denied possession of the suspected methamphetamine.  At that time both Kroesing and Luke were arrested and transported to the DeSoto Parish Detention Center for booking.

Fugitive from Justice  (Failure to Register as a Sex Offender)
Possession of Schedule II  (Meth)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

 

 

 

 

Wendy L. Luke was booked on the following charges:
Possession of Schedule II (Meth)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 
Possession of a Legend Drug
