SABINE COUNTY- The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigated a one-vehicle crash on 8-29-18 Highway 21, just east of Gasby-NZ Cemetery Road.

 

The preliminary investigation indicates at approximately 8 p.m., the driver of a 2018 Buick SUV was eastbound and fleeing from law enforcement officials after a traffic stop. During the flight from officers, the Buick drove off the roadway to the right and struck multiple trees, injuring the driver.

The driver is identified as 39-year-old Demarcus Teel from Ft. Worth. Teel was transported by medical helicopter to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for treatment.
