Bossier City Police officer heading to Louisiana Supreme Court

After years of hearings and appeals, a once-fired Bossier City Police officer will head to the Louisiana Supreme Court this morning.  Philip Vernon was fired in 2009 after he helped arrest Bossier Parish prosecutor Sherb Sentell at a local casino.  Vernon was fired for reportedly filing a false report.  When Vernon was reinstated, he went through the district courts to get back-pay and to have a 90-day suspension removed from his record.  That has not happened yet. But all seven justices at the Louisiana Supreme Court have agreed to hear his case. The case is expected to begin at 9:30 am today. It's likely to take a few weeks before a decision is made.
