DPSO/DPSB Endeavor Signed

On July 26, 2018, Sheriff Jayson Richardson and Superintendent Clay Corley signed a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office and the DeSoto Parish School Board to further enhance school safety. The agreement adds additional School Resource Deputies at multi-campus locations. The top priority of both agencies is the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors on campus. Physical presence represents a small portion of the programs and plans that are already in place to ensure safety and security at each school campus. Active shooter response drills and vulnerability assessments are held yearly, and the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s dispatch center has live access to all school cameras to allow rapid response to any situation that may arise. We are pleased to have a relationship between DPSO and DPSB that allows us to achieve such accomplishments to ensure safety on our school campuses.
