SHELBY COUNTY – On July 26, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigated a two vehicle crash involving a commercial motor vehicle on SH 87, just south of FM 1645.

 

The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 5 p.m., a 1998 International truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling north on SH 87. A 2015 Jeep SUV reportedly disregarded the stop sign at the intersection of SH 87 and FM 1645 and was struck by the International.

 

The driver of the truck tractor is identified as 37-year-old Aubrey Lacy from Center. Lacy was not reportedly injured during the crash.

 

The driver of the Jeep is identified as 23-year-old Sandra Zamarron from Tenaha.  Zamarron and three children ages two, three and four were transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for treatment. The four year old child was later transported Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

 

This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
