ANGELINA COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) arrested two suspects on felony drug charges following a June 30 traffic stop on US 59. The preliminary information indicates at approximately 12:15 p.m., a State Trooper stopped a 2008 Chrysler passenger car for a traffic violation. While contacting the driver, 28-year-old Jahadi Davis from Shreveport, the Trooper
suspected drugs were in the vehicle. A DPS canine was notified and alerted to the presence of drugs. A search of the trunk revealed approximately eight and a half pounds of marijuana, more than one pound of a controlled substance in pill form and more than 50 grams of controlled substance in liquid form.
Davis and a passenger identified as 27-year-old Brandon Player from Houston were taken into custody and transported to the Angelina County Jail. Davis was also wanted out of Montgomery County Texas for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Davis and Player were reportedly traveling from Houston to Louisiana.
