McMahon Trial Results

The jury ruled in the McMahon trial that was held yesterday 6-6-18 at the active Shelby County Courthouse that both Randa and Matthew Cole McMahon will have their parental rights terminated and that custody of their child will go to the child's grandmother on the mother's side Margaret Regina Raymond.

The McMahon were both arrested in 2017 for the charge of injury to their child who at the time was 4 years old.  The Somervelle County Sheriff’s Department executed two felony warrants on behalf of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, June 2, 2017 for Matthew McMahon, 29, of Shelbyville and Randa Askew Faust McMahon, 36, of Shelbyville, for Injury to a Child (F-1). The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office sought the warrants after investigating allegations of child abuse against a 4 year-old child.

During the investigation, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office found reason to believe that the defendants were locking the child in a large dog kennel and a closet for extensive periods of time.  Randa McMahon age 36 and Matthew age 29 were originally arrested on July 19th for child endangerment charges.

After that arrest the McMahon's made bail, only to be arrested again.  The couple has lost parental rights to their child and are awaiting to face their day in court for criminal charges.
