NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX – On May 16, Texas Department of Public

Safety (DPS) Troopers investigated a two vehicle crash on US 59 at US 259, just

north of Nacogdoches.

 

The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 3:30 p.m., a 2009

Kia Sorento reportedly failed to yield right of way from the stop sign on US 259

and pulled into the path of a 2014 Volvo truck tractor semi-trailer that was

traveling north on US 59.

 

The driver of the Kia was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Nacogdoches

County Justice of the Peace and identified as 36-year-old Anthony Coleman from

Henderson, TX.

 

The driver of the truck tractor is identified as Jerry Blankenship, 55, from Stamps,

AR. Blankenship was not reportedly injured during the crash.

 

This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at

this time.
