Polk County Pedestrian Crash

 

 

POLK COUNTY, TX – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers investigated an auto-pedestrian crash yesterday 4-19-18 about one mile west of Livingston on US 190.
 
The preliminary information indicates at about 10:30 p.m., a motorist traveling west was encountered by a vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes. The driver of the westbound vehicle reportedly slowed down to avoid the wrong way driver and was struck from behind by another vehicle.  Moments later another motorist stopped on the westbound shoulder to assist the occupants involved in the previous crash and was struck by a 2006 Saturn SUV
while attempting to cross the roadway.
 
The pedestrian is identified as Angel Saez, 46, from Onalaska, TX. Saez was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver of the SUV is identified as Lorenzo Johnson, 57, also from Onalaska. Johnson was not reportedly injured during the crash.
 
The operator of the vehicle that was traveling the wrong way on US 190 has not been located at this time.  Anyone with any information is asked to contact law enforcement.
 
This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
