Recognizing Deputies in DeSoto

The DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office would like to recognize three deputies for their performance during the recent severe weather that occurred in DeSoto Parish.

Cpl. Obie Galey, Cpl. Vicki Page and Deputy Antoinette Turner received a call of a missing person, later identified as Adam Dickson, during the severe storm activity that affected our area this past week.  All three Deputies, in addition to their already taxing duties during the storm, went above and beyond their duty by contacting the cellular provider to "ping" the cellular phone belonging to the individual.  They then relayed this information in a timely manner to Texas DPS Troopers and City Police along the I-20 West Corridor.  Adam's family was quickly notified and he was located by Texas DPS Troopers and transported to the nearest hospital for treatment.  The outcome for Adam could have been devastating if not for the professionalism and quick response of these three Deputies as well as Texas DPS Troopers.

Our Deputies exhibit qualities such as this on a daily basis by putting their lives on the line for the public we gratefully serve.  Due to the severe weather and circumstances on this day, Sheriff Jayson Richardson felt it necessary to acknowledge these three Deputies for exhibiting the core values in which we, the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office, abide by.  Honor, professionalism, courage, and integrity are the ethos by which we bring to the public that, in turn, puts its trust in our agency.
