Center ISD Bond Election Information

 

 

Early voting for the Center ISD Bond election will start on April 23rd - April 27th the polls will be closed on the weekend April 28th - April 29th and will reopen on April 30th.  Early voting will be held at the Shelby County Clerk's office on 124 Austin Street on the downtown Center city square.  The Shelby County Clerk's office is open from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Sample ballots will be released as soon as the Clerk's office releases them to us at Center Broadcasting Company.  Election day will be on Saturday May 5th at the Center Middle School cafeteria from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  There are two proposition A and B.  Center residents will be able to vote on each proposition.
 
The voting options include:
 
1. for both A and B.
2. for A against B.
3. for B against A.
4. against both A and B.
 
 
Proposition A will not require a tax rate increase.
 
Proposition B will require a tax rate increase of eight cents.
 
If you are over the age of 65, your homestead taxes are frozen, hence no tax increase on your homestead.
 
Center ISD awards the 20% homestead exemption.  
 
Remember to get out and go vote.
