As anticipated, the snow has diminished except for a few occasional flakes. The clouds are beginning to lighten up and show signs of breaking.
Below are a few of the weather facts here in San Augustine as of 11:00 am:
Our High Temp for the day was 43.5 at 12:05 am......&...that will very likely be our high temperature for the day.
Our Low temperature for the day so far is 21.2 degrees at 10:05 am.
Our winds are out of the North
Wind speed high gust was with the arrival of the front at 1:15 am. Blowing at 21 mph.
The winds are still gusting at 12-15 mph although the 10 minute average is only 7 mph average Wind chill is 15.3 degrees
The moisture out of all this is just .02 inches
Here is the bad news: My observation of the current conditions and what will continue throughout the afternoon and evening. As our temperatures remaining below freezing and the wind propelling it across normally protected areas.....the road areas are beginning to have patches of snow and ice forming on them on bridges, under trees covering the road ways, and on elevated areas not in contact with the ground surface area.
