Weather Update

A wintry weather event is still expected to occur late tonight through
tomorrow affecting portions of the Four-State Region. The *Winter Weather
Watch *has been upgraded to a *Winter Weather Warning*, and a *Winter
Weather Advisory* has been added to southeast OK, portions of northeast TX
and southwest AR.

*Timing and Overview:*

A potent Arctic air mass will envelope the Four-State Region impinging on
southeast OK, southwest AR and extreme northeast TX late this afternoon,
resulting in light rain showers that could spread to northwest LA. This
front will continue to push southeast and affect the remainder of the area
through the evening and night hours, ushering in the very cold air mass.
The light rain showers will then quickly transition from rain to freezing
rain and/or sleet and finally to all snow several hours after sunset (for
areas along and north of I-30). Areas along and south of I-20 will see this
transition around midnight through Tuesday morning.

The areas that are under a *Winter Weather Advisory* (in purple) will see
snowfall accumulations of 1-2 inches. The areas that are under a *Winter
Weather Warning* (in pink) will see snowfall accumulations of 2-3 inches
with the potential for locally higher amounts of around 4 inches.  Furthermore,

*light icing could take shape across*

*portions of *
*Deep East Texas *
*with amounts of 0.1 inches or less expected. *
