The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department responded to 56 emergency calls in 2017. The calls cover a wide variety of situations, ranging from assisting EMS to full blown structure fires. The breakdown is as follows:

 

Motor Vehicle Accidents: 23

5 of these involved extrication. 

 

Vehicle fires: 4

 

Grass/ woods fires: 10

 

Storm damage/ clear roads: 4

 

Landing zone for helicopter: 2

 

Special rescue: 1

 

Structure fires: 11

 

Six of the calls listed were for mutual aid to neighboring departments.
