ANGELINA COUNTY, TX – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers

investigated early this morning a double fatality crash on CC Road about four

miles southeast of Lufkin.

 

The preliminary crash investigation indicates that about 1:30 a.m., a 2008 Honda

passenger car was traveling south on CC Road when the vehicle drove off the

roadway to the right where it struck a dirt embankment and a tree before

overturning.

 

The driver of the vehicle is identified as Jarred Pecina, 20, from Diboll, TX. A

passenger traveling with Pecina is identified as Valeria Jasso, 18, from Lufkin, TX.

Pecina and Jasso were both pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash by

Angelina County Justice of the Peace Esther Barger.

 

This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at

this time.
