Polk County Wreck

 

POLK COUNTY, TEXAS – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers investigated yesterday morning 12-18-17 a two vehicle fatality crash at the intersection of SH 146 and FM 2610.
 
The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 6:30 a.m., a 2001 Nissan passenger car failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign on FM 2610, and drove into the path of a 2015 Chevrolet passenger van that was southbound on SH 146.
 
Jonathan Hemphill, 43, from Spring, Texas is identified as the driver of the Nissan.  Hemphill was transported from the scene to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Livingston and was pronounced deceased by Polk County Justice of the Peace Jessica Stanton. James Brown, 65, from Point Blank, Texas is identified as the driver of the van.  Brown and two other passengers were transported to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Livingston for precautionary measures.
 
This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
