Fugitive Wanted For Attempted Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer

 

Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle wanted to notify the media and public of a suspect wanted for the Attempted Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer. 

 

Today, October 24, 2017, a deputy with the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office received a tip regarding a suspect, identified as Malcolm Jamal Flowers (B/M – DOB: 01/15/1989) of Mansfield, LA, who was wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for the offenses of Principal to Distribution of Schedule I and Principal to Distribution of Schedule II.  Deputies responded to the location and at about 1:20 p.m. and observed a vehicle they believed to be occupied by Flowers.  Deputies approached the vehicle at a gas pump in the 500 block of Washington Avenue in Mansfield, LA. 

 

Flowers observed the deputies approaching and immediately attempted to flee in the vehicle.  In the process, a deputy was impacted by the vehicle and sustained moderate injuries.  He was later transported to DeSoto Regional Health System.  Flowers ultimately fled the scene and the vehicle he was operating was located a short time later outside of the city limits of Mansfield, LA.  Detectives and deputies worked diligently to secure an arrest warrant for Flowers. 

 

Flowers is now wanted for the offense of Attempted First Degree Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer in addition to the original felony warrant for the offenses of Principal to Distribution of Schedule I and Principal to Distribution of Schedule II.  DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Violent Offender Task Force is actively working to apprehend Flowers.  Anyone with information regarding the location or whereabouts of Flowers is asked to call the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at (318) 872-3956.
