SUV overturns on I-20

A sport utility vehicle taking 10 children to a water park veered out of control and overturned on an East Texas interstate highway Monday afternoon, killing five children and injuring the other seven occupants of the vehicle. The crash happened about 2:15 p.m. Monday on Interstate 20 near the town of Van, about 70 miles east of Dallas. According to sources, a language barrier enhanced the confusion surrounding the initial investigation. Those killed were all children. Three were girls, ages 13, 6, 3 and 2. The other was a 5-year-old boy.  Five other children and two adults were taken to hospitals in Tyler and Dallas. Four children were admitted in critical condition, a 14-year-old girl was treated and released and only one of the adults was admitted to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. No identities were released.
