SABINE COUNTY, TX – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers

investigated a one vehicle fatality crash late last night 9-18-17 on SH 87 at approximately

11:25 p.m., about one mile south of Hemphill.

 

The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee was

traveling north on SH 87. Investigators said the driver drove over into the

southbound lane of SH 87, overcorrected to the right, then back to the left where

the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

 

The driver of the Jeep was identified as Ashley Ener, 22, from Hemphill, TX. Ener

was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Sabine County Justice of the Peace.

This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at

this time.
