Despite the dry, hot weather we've been experiencing across the deep east Texas and west Louisiana area, there's no burn ban that's presently in effect for the area. With that being said, local fire departments are urging citizens to use extreme caution with outdoor burning. Stay with your fire and keep a good water source nearby, just in case it's needed. You have to go north to Harrison County to find the closest burn ban to our area. We do go through this week with a better than average chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, but until we get another good measurable rainfall, conditions will be only continue get dryer, especially with the summer heat. Again, there's no burn ban in effect for our immediate area.
