There are forecast changes in the impacts for DEEP EAST TEXAS and us
here in SA County.
- The *wind *will remain at Tropical Storm levels of 35 to 40 mph
sustained wind beginning on Wednesday. We can expect gusts to 50 mph.
Thursday late the winds should diminish to 20 mph. With the saturated
ground, widespread uprooted trees will be a problem across all of Deep East
Texas.
- Much *more rain* is being forecast. South SA County 10-12 inches and
further South upwards of 20 inches. Central and North SA County is expected
to see 8-10 more inches Wednesday thru next Monday. The further North you
go the lesser the rain amounts.
- *Wednesday & Thursday* are projected to be the worst weather days with
possible tornados, T-storms, hail, lightning, TS winds, and heavy rainfall
(3+ inches each day) that will cause some flash flooding with the already
soaked soil. The North and East sides where the outer bands train will have
the greatest impacts. Louisiana will be impacted. Toledo Bend is planning
on releasing water from the dam to relieve the backwater flooding that will
occur due to the heavy rains.
