TxDOT Update on Road Closures

As of 7:30PM on Sunday, August 27th:

Tropical Storm Harvey has stalled inland over a majority of southeast Texas, and will move slowly across South Central and Southeast Texas through Wednesday. Substantial rainfall, dangerous flooding, and high winds continue to threaten this part of the state. Travel is discouraged in the affected areas until conditions improve.

The uncertain storm path and patterns of rain bands can make water levels change rapidly. Motorists who come upon a section of roadway that has water flowing across it should seek an alternate route. It is against Texas law to drive around barricades at flooded roads. And it’s never worth the risk.

If you find yourself in need of shelter, please call 2 1 1.

Remember: Turn around, don't drown.
