Weather Update

I am sure by now everyone recognises the noise outside as Thunder and the
sound on your car and house is rain.

The National Weather Service has just issued an advisory for OKLA, Ark, NW
LA, and NE Tx for the possibility of river and small stream flooding. The
rain for those areas is anticipated to be 8-12 inches.  If you are planning
trips to these areas please stay informed through your weather radio, TV &
Radio stations. previous rain, saturated ground, and lack of drought
conditions will cause vast amounts of runoff into rivers, lakes, small
streams and coverage of low water crossings.

We are in a persistent and rare August event that will continue into mid
next week with more rain, and 5-8 degree cooler temperatures.  The flooding
will as always depend on where the locally heavy rainfall occurs. Whether
it has an impact on us here in Deep East Texas will depend on how far South
and West the rain sags.

The prime impact area is on the Red River and its watershed areas.
