Prosecutors say a Louisiana sex offender charged in the deaths of a University of Louisiana at Lafayette student and another woman may have moved their bodies. Brandon S. Lavergne, a 33-year-old from Swords, is charged in Lafayette Parish with murder in the May 19 disappearance of Mickey Shunick and the 1999 death of Lisa Ann Pate.  A court filing stated the "continued tampering" with Shunick's body was meant to hamper the investigation.  According to reports, prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty against Lavergne.
