WWII Vet Terrell Childs to Recall His Army-Air Corps Service for TAGHS

The attached WWII photograph of Terrell Childs standing near the nose of a crash landed German Messerschmitt Bf 110 airplane was posted on Facebook a few weeks ago, drawing a great deal of interest and many likes and shares. Readers were astonished to learn that the German fighter-bomber was in USAAF hands at the time of this crash, that Mr. Childs was instrumental in the U.S. military's acquisition of the plane, and that he had been aboard it at the time of the crash! The Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society invites the public to hear Timpson WWII veteran Terrell Childs recall this amazing story as well as others from his service to our country during WWII at their  monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 19 at 2PM in the meeting room of the Timpson Public Library on the corner of Austin and Bremond Streets.
