ANGELINA COUNTY, TX- On October 18, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Texas

Department of Public Safety troopers investigated a two vehicle crash on US 59

North near FM 2021.

 

The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 1993 International truck tractor

semi-trailer had merged onto US 59 from FM 2021 and was traveling south in the

outside lane when it was struck from behind by a 2014 Peterbilt truck tractor semitrailer.

The driver of the 1993 International was identified as 53-year-old Rickey Sessum

from Lufkin, TX. The driver of the 2014 Peterbilt was as 69-year-old Richard

Hooker from Malvern, AR.

 

Sessum was reportedly not injured as a result of the crash. Mr. Hooker was

transported from the scene to Woodland Height’s Hospital in Lufkin for treatment.

This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at

this time.
