Weather Update

Below is the forecast from the NWS and other sources. The next couple of days will see some rain reform with the heaviest to our North and East of Deep East Texas. We will likely see some T-storms form each afternoon with the heat of the day, humidity, and upper levels of disturbed air. The chances lessen Saturday evening thru Sunday.

The Atlantic Basin tropics are the watch word of the day and upcoming week. Gaston has gained Tropical Storm strength and will become a Hurricane Cat 1. Its movement currently is to the North and West and is expected to move more North during the week as it is experiencing upper air wind shear that is keeping it to the East of Bermuda and will lessen its strength as it moves into cooler North Atlantic waters.

There is an area of unorganised, disturbed air located just North of the Dominican Republic that is of some concern. Its motion has been to the West and though it is unorganised, it could strengthen and move into the Gulf.  It is thought that it will turn more North and have some impact on the South East side of Florida. THis model is and the fly thru have shown this morning. If it does move in to the Gulf its, West by North direction would move the impact area to the South Western side of Florida. Not organised enough to make any real predictions. If it takes a development into Tropical Storm strength it will be named Hermine
