Angelina County, TX- At approximately 1:40 a.m., on August 15, Texas

Department of Public Safety troopers responded to and investigated a two vehicle

fatal crash on SH 103 East, about five miles East of Lufkin.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 2003 Ford passenger car was

traveling eastbound on SH 103 when it drove over into the westbound lane and

struck a 2007 Ford pickup head-on.

The driver of the 2003 Ford passenger car was identified as 35-year-old Shelby

Dale LeBlanc from Etoile, TX. Leblanc was pronounced deceased at the scene by

Justice of the Peace Pat Grubbs.

The driver of the 2007 Ford pick-up was identified as Roy Lynn Smith, 36, from

Pollok, TX. Smith was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital with serious

injuries.

This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at

this time.
