Library announces Summer Reading Program

 
Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library announces Summer Reading Program
 
CENTER, TEXAS – June 2, 2016 – On your Mark, Get Set…Read!  School is out and summer vacation is here, so it’s time to get ready for a fun-filled summer with the new 2016 Summer Reading Program beginning Thursday, June 9 through Friday, July 8 at the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library. The Summer Reading Program is being sponsored for the second year by the Center Noon Lions Club.  The reading program is open to children ages 4 to 13 years of age.
To participate in the Summer Reading Program, children must keep a reading log that lists the book titles or a time log that lists how much time they spent reading.  Summer Reading Program Reading Time Logs may be picked up now at the library and must be completed and turned in to the librarian by Friday, July 8, 2016.  Children may select books from the library or from other sources to read and may join at any time during the month of June.  An Awards Ceremony and Party will be held in July for those participates who return their reading logs to the library.
In addition to a summer of great reading, the library has scheduled fun events for the following age categories:  
 
Children Ages 4-8 Years:
Thursday, June 9, 2016 – 10:30 a.m. – Puppet Wise
Thursday, June 16, 2016 – 10:30 a.m. – Creature Teacher
Thursday, June 23, 2016 – 10:30 a.m. – Hiram Harrison, Athletic Coach on Fitness
Thursday, June 30, 2016 – 10:30 a.m – Dru Woods
Friday, July 8, 2016 – 10:30 a.m. – Julian Franklin, Magician
 
Tweens Ages 9-13 Years:
Thursday, June 9, 2016 – 2:00 p.m. – “Caught Being a Good Friend”
Thursday, June 16, 2016 – 2:00 p.m. – Creature Teacher 
Thursday, June 23, 2016 – 2:00 p.m. – “Write Your Own Story”
Thursday, June 30, 2016 – 2:00 p.m. - Hiram Harrison, Athletic Coach on Fitness
Friday, July 8, 2016 – 10:30 a.m. – Julian Franklin, Magician
