Agriculture Education Day 2016 Held today at Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo Arena was a huge success with over 1,000 children in attendance.  It featured a wide variety of events such as: roping, FFA demonstrations, The Forest Service, indoor fishing, a petting zoo, a long horn cow, the community garden, bee keeping, and hay rides all to help educate our youth about agriculture.  The Event was led by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension service members Lane Dunn and Jheri-Lynn McSwain.  Mr. Dunn has worked for the AgriLife Program for over 13 years, before which he was an ag teacher at Center High School for 10 years, so it is safe to say he has agriculture in his veins.  Ms. McSwain has been with the service for over 3 years.  They would like people to know that their goal is to help East Texans learn and grow in agriculture both in business, pleasure, and their personal lives.
