The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 9th Annual Health and Fitness Fair, presented by Cline Family Medicine Thursday, March 31 at the Windham Civic Center from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
The Shreveport Veterans Center will be on site with information on readjustment counseling and referral services for all combat veterans and their families.
This year the Health Care Committee has added a Scavenger Hunt to the activities. Attendees and vendors are invited to participate in finding items throughout the fair and have the opportunity to win a 32” Flat Screen TV by random draw.

There will be two guest speakers at this year’s event. Dr. Dan Wilkins, Wilkins Counseling, will be speaking on “The Mind Body Connection” at 10:30 a.m. and Shannon Lutmer of Hospice of East Texas, will have a presentation on “People With Alzheimer’s and Dementia” at 1:00 p.m. in room A in the Civic Center. The booth area of the fair will be closed to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. during the breakout sessions which will allow vendors to attend.

The fair is free to the public featuring 40 vendors with give aways and door prizes. Vendors will be providing health screenings which include glucose, cholesterol, spinal screenings, heart awareness, bone density, blood typing and vision. Information will be provided on home health, nursing homes, hospice, nutrition, allergy immunotherapy, diabetes and caregiver relief.
