10.2 Million Dollar Construction Project in Lufkin

LUFKIN - Construction will continue on a $10.2 million construction project in Houston County next week that will have work moving to the city of Kennard.
Pinto Construction Co. of Nacogdoches, contractor for the project, will continue work on the SH 7 project that continues for 7 miles, from .2 miles east of FM 232 to the city of Kennard. The project is designed to reconstruct pavement and add passing lanes and shoulders.
The project began in January 2015, and is expected to be completed by December, weather permitting. This part of the project near the city of Kennard is expected to be finished in about four weeks.
Motorists should expect lane closures and delays through the construction area. Motorists are also urged to be alert to workers and moving equipment in the work area, obey all signage and reduce speed. Remember, traffic fines double while workers are present.
