FLASH FLOOD AND THUNDER STORMS WARNING UPDATE

A tornado warning and flash flood warning has just been issued for the area from Zavalla to Hemphill and on into Louisiana. Several cells are showing rotation on radar. The movement was to the North North East and running just South of the Broaddus area. More storms will develop as the cold front merges with the unstable air moving across Mexico.

 

Heavy rain at 3.75"/hour, Thunder, lots of lightning and wind gusts to 15. new total for the day is 2.30 inches as of 7:50pm. East of San Augustine is experiencing short duration electrical outages. San Augustine is reporting no outages. That may be due to the heavy weather in the Bronson/Hemphill areas feeding us power. The low lying areas are beginning to show flow of water out of the banks.

 

Several new T-storms are showing rotation over Broaddus with tops at 40,000 feet+ with heavy rain. Movement is at 52 mph to the NNE. One is showing a hail storm with .50 hail size (dime size). Broaddus has 2.59 inches for the day.
