On 02/29/16 at 11:07 am, Nacogdoches DPS troopers responded to and

investigated a one vehicle crash on US 59, approximately 8 miles North of

Nacogdoches. The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 2006 Ford passenger

car was traveling northbound on US 59 in the outside lane when the vehicle left the

roadway to the right and struck a road sign. After striking the road sign the vehicle

then crossed over both the north and southbound lanes of US 59 where it struck a

guardrail and flipped over into a creek. The driver of the vehicle was transported to

a Nacogdoches Hospital for treatment. The identity of the driver is not available

for release at this time pending notification of next of kin. The crash remains under

investigation and information will be updated as it becomes available.
