A gas line was cut by workers on Rigs Street on Thursday, January 28, 2016. The Center Fire Department arrived on the scene at 11 a.m., just as a pole was catching on fire. Workers attempted to contain the fire until the Firemen arrived. The firemen quickly extinguished the fire. While the fire fighter worked to put out the fire Police barricade the road. When Centerpoint Energy arrived on site the firemen where able to fully extinguish the flames, and returned to the station when their assistance was no longer necessary.  It is unclear when the repairs will be completed.
