East Texas movie lovers can celebrate awards season with a star turn at Oscar Night at The Pines, Sunday, Feb. 28.

 

"We have a wonderful venue in The Pines, and what better way to show it off than with a party celebrating the movies!" said Tara Watson-Watkins, executive director of the Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau and artistic director for The Pines. "Movie lovers can wear their favorite fancy outfits and come for a great party, and we'll watch the awards together on the big screen!"

 

Attendees will walk the red carpet, complete with paparazzi photographers, upon arrival from 6 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and the ticket price covers hors d’oeuvres and glass of champagne. A cash bar will be available.

 

"This is our second year to celebrate the Academy Awards at The Pines and once again this will be an unforgettable night," Watson-Watkins said. "It's always nice to have an excuse to dress to the nines. Everyone will get the opportunity to be a star on the red carpet, and then we'll go inside and cheer for the real stars. Seating is limited and tickets will go quickly, so if you want to celebrate your favorite movies in our beautiful, historic theater, you should get yours as soon as possible."
