Even though Fillies Laura Chavez scored 20 points, Panola College fell to Tyler Junior College 94-90. Fillies closed the gap going into the fourth quarter being down two 69-67, but Tyler Junior College kept the lead and got the victory. Both teams were relentless on the court, with Panola College racking up 30 fouls while Tyler Junior College picked up 26.

Chavez paved the way for Panola College, making 67% (2-for-3) of shots attempted while also sinking 100% (15-for-15) of free throws attempted.

 

Amanda Cruz also reached double digits, scoring 14 points for Panola College (5-for-8), 5 assist and 3 steals. Kia Fisker (16 points) and J'Lene Martinez (10 points) each contributed multiple three-pointers. Also chipping in for the Fillies were R'Trevia Randolph (7 points),Charlynn Perry (6 points), Kabreshia Orange and Genesis Rivera (5 points apiece),Raemeisha Claxton (4 points, 5 rebounds), and Teanna Frances Henderson (3 points).

Fillies will take action again Saturday, January 30th at AJ Gymnasium against San Jacinto-North at 2:00pm.
