On 1/5/16 at approximately 8:27 am, Angelina County DPS Troopers responded to and investigated a two vehicle crash on SH 94 in Trinity County just north of FM 357. The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 2013 Dodge passenger car, driven by Loran Rhodes (18), from Apple Springs, TX was traveling westbound on SH 94. Rhodes reportedly drove off the right side of the roadway, corrected back to the left and drove into the eastbound lane where she was struck by a 1997 GMC Suburban. Rhodes and the driver of the GMC were transported to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Lufkin by ambulance for treatment. A passenger also traveling in the GMC was transported to a Conroe Hospital by medical helicopter for treatment. The identities of the driver and passenger in the GMC are not available at this time pending notification of their next of kin that they were involved in a crash. This crash remains under investigation and no additional information is available at this time
