The Leadership Shelby County committee of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce

announces a Leadership Conference will be hosted by Leadership Alumni on Wednesday,

November 18 in Foster Hall at the Windham Civic Center. Farmers State Bank will

sponsor the 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. luncheon event.

The keynote speaker, Jennifer Ledet, is from the bayous of South Louisiana and has

a unique perspective on leadership. She will share her recipe "Leadership GUMBO",

plus a little Cajun Spice. She will highlight the skills, characteristics and qualities

of the successful leaders she has encountered working with volunteer organizations

and corporate clients in a wide variety of industries.

The presentation is designed for business owners, managers, team members and professionals,

and is open to the public. Committee chairman, Jason Locke commented, "Leadership

Shelby County Alumni wants to share this professional development opportunity featuring

a national speaker, with the community, right here in Center."

"Attendees will hear some delightful Cajun wit and wisdom as a guide to develop

a personal recipe for excellence," shared Pam Phelps, Executive Director. Tyson

Foods, City of Center and Wayne Christian Financial are event underwriters.

or calling the chamber office at 936.598.3682. Individual tickets are $35 or a reserved

table of six is $200, which includes a Cajun lunch.  Payment can be made by credit

card or an invoice may be requested.

Leadership Shelby County was established in 2003 and has graduated ten classes of

leaders. The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce is organized to promote and advance

economic enrichment and development, tourism, and the social and civic interest

of Shelby County and adjoining areas.
